Years after the first hunt, Las Vegas was supposed to be a fresh start—but the walls of the Chemet Hotel are closing in fast. As hellhounds stalk the casino floors and chaos erupts, scattered survivors try to improvise their way out of a nightmare: some retreat upward to penthouse “safety,” others gamble on desperate escape plans, and a pair of unlikely rockers take a semi truck straight through the heart of the casino in a bid to save whoever’s left.
Meanwhile, in the hotel’s security room, a handful of shaken guests dig through camera feeds and rewound footage, uncovering the truth about how the monsters got loose—and the mysterious woman who may have set the whole slaughter in motion. With exits sealed, trust fraying, and the hunt tightening its circle, the survivors realize that if they want to live, they’ll have to go toward the danger… not away from it.

Scion “The Valley of the Setting Sun” Chapter 22: Against the Cleaving
Friday Nov 06, 2020
Friday Nov 06, 2020
The Thunderbird migration rages overhead as the “neutral ground” party comes apart at the seams. Somewhere in the crush of divinities, Scions, and very fragile mortals, a stolen relic with the power to kill gods is changing hands—and the trio has only moments to stop it before the whole night turns from tense to catastrophic.
Jesse and Gary plunge into the storm-lit mansion and parking lot, chasing a familiar mortal face through a maze of bodies, wards, and party rules that very much frown on open displays of power. Nick, stuck at the table with Loki, has to turn small talk into a leash, keeping the trickster seated and talking while more and more deities start to realize something is wrong.
Prophecy, fate, and free will collide as an old warning about “a woman who always lies” comes due. In a place where everyone is dangerous and no one wants to blink first, the Scions have to decide how far they’re willing to go—and what it really means to pull away from the strings that want this night to end in blood.
About the Chronicle
The Valley of the Setting Sun is a Scion Second Edition chronicle set in modern-day Phoenix, where divine power sleeps just beneath the heat-hazed pavement. The campaign follows a band of Scions as they awaken to their true heritage, receive their Visitations, and step into a world woven with prophecy, danger, and the weight of mythic legacy.

Scion “The Valley of the Setting Sun” Chapter 21: A Stormlit Soirée
Wednesday Nov 04, 2020
Wednesday Nov 04, 2020
At the height of the Thunderbird migration, the trio trades battlefields for a mountaintop mansion sitting inside the storm itself. Lightning crawls through the clouds just overhead while the valley’s divine elite mingle below—gods, Scions, and powerhouses from half a dozen pantheons all dressed for a party that feels more like a diplomatic summit than a celebration.
Gary, Jesse, and Sir Nicholas try to keep their footing as they’re pulled into divine small talk: two very different faces of Aphrodite, a war goddess with a “shy” bodyguard, and a room full of people who are all more dangerous than they look. A nervous waitress seems strangely familiar, old mortal names from early in their journey start to surface again, and the group slowly realizes something is very wrong.
Somewhere between the drinks, stolen glances, and thunder, a weapon that can kill gods quietly goes missing—and it didn’t walk out on its own. Surrounded by beings who play politics on a mythic scale, the Scions have to start asking hard questions: who’s lying, who’s desperate, and who just put the whole party—and the Valley—at risk.

Scion “The Valley of the Setting Sun” Chapter 20: Gifts Before the Storm
Sunday Nov 01, 2020
Sunday Nov 01, 2020
With the tournament grounds still shifting behind them, the band of Scions turns to business—and trouble. Gary cashes in his supernatural connections to broker a deal with an Oni arms dealer, securing a new spear for Jesse that comes with a murky history and a very dead former owner. Nick, meanwhile, receives a… more intimate artifact of protection, whether he’s ready for that kind of upgrade or not.
As Phoenix sinks under a day-long thunderstorm, the Thunderbird migration begins in earnest. Shapes move in the clouds, lightning answers careless jokes, and the sky feels close and watching. While Jesse drills with his new weapon, Nick oversees cleanup at the ever-weirder castle, and Gary arranges one last ominous “gift,” the trio prepares for an exclusive mountaintop party held in the heart of the storm—where gods, Scions, and whatever Loki has planned may all collide.

Vampire: the Masquerade - Twin Cities by Night “Sorrow” Chapter 9: Unbinding
Friday Oct 30, 2020
Friday Oct 30, 2020
A snowbound journey leads the Nothing to a quiet house in Minneapolis—a home that feels both inviting and wrong. Inside waits a woman who knows far too much about who they are, what they’ve done, and what they believe. As conversations turn inward, faith and identity fracture beneath the weight of doubt and revelation.
What begins as a refuge becomes a mirror, reflecting everything the pack has refused to confront. While some seek meaning, others are haunted by what they’ve lost—and by what they might still become.
About the Chronicle
Sorrow is a tale of loss, depression, and fractured faith — a deeply personal story that returns to the somber roots of Vampire: The Masquerade. It follows a new cast of characters, each haunted by their mortal lives and the price of immortality, as they navigate duty, despair, and the need to belong.
This chronicle continues the interconnected world of Twin Cities by Night, expanding the saga that began with Negligence, Homecoming, Dread, and Ghouls: Fatal Addiction – Servitude. It can be experienced on its own or as part of the full continuity.

Separated and hunted in the snowbound Twin Cities, the Nothing faces its most perilous night yet. A desperate escape turns into a confrontation with a stranger whose purpose is as dark as the blood in his veins, while elsewhere, survival demands impossible choices behind the wheel and under gunfire.
As danger closes in and the cost of loyalty deepens, the pack’s mission to uncover the fate of a vanished Sabbat cell begins to unravel into something far more personal. Each of them must decide what they are willing to lose—and who they still are beneath the hunger and the grief.

Vampire: the Masquerade - Twin Cities by Night “Sorrow” Chapter 7: Firebreak
Sunday Oct 25, 2020
Sunday Oct 25, 2020
Winter, 1989 — The Twin Cities, Minnesota.
A lead meant to bring closure instead ignites the storm. What begins as a cautious alliance unravels in an instant of violence and fire, forcing the Nothing Pack to face the truth about their mission — and themselves.
As loyalties fracture and chaos consumes the streets, survival becomes less about faith and more about instinct. When the smoke clears, not everyone will remain the same.

Scion “The Valley of the Setting Sun” Chapter 19: Jesse’s First Fight Club
Friday Oct 23, 2020
Friday Oct 23, 2020
The tournament at Sir Nicholas’s desert castle hits its breaking point as the brackets close in and only the heaviest hitters are left standing. The battlefield itself keeps shifting—flooded island chains, volcanic rock, tall grass and hidden angles—turning every match into a test of wits as much as fists.
Jesse steps into a brutal gauntlet: first squaring off against Kieran in a clash of honor and grit, then facing the grudge match that’s been brewing since the mall—his long-awaited rematch with Finn. Each bout pushes Jesse deeper into what it means to carry a giant’s blood and a reputation he never asked for.
Waiting at the end of the bracket is a silent, deadly contender known only as T, a shapeshifter who prefers tiger claws to words. As the final rounds play out, the tournament finally crowns its champion, the promise of a duel with a frost giant hanging over the victor like a storm on the horizon.

Scion “The Valley of the Setting Sun” Chapter 18: Ash, Ice, and Second Chances
Wednesday Oct 21, 2020
Wednesday Oct 21, 2020
As round two of the tournament opens at Sir Nicholas’s desert castle, the arena itself turns hostile. The ground splits into black volcanic rock laced with glowing cracks, and Jesse steps into a brutal match against a strange opponent whose power is anything but human. Frost and fire meet on the shifting battlefield as he leans hard into his giant-blooded heritage, trying to outthink a threat that literally tears itself apart to strike back.
Elsewhere in the bracket, Sir Nicholas is pushed to his limits by a spear-wielding rival who seems far too comfortable drawing blood, forcing Nick to balance pride, honor, and the very real possibility of collapse. While fists fly and ichor spills, Gary takes command of the “off-the-field” chaos—securing food, drink, and a little fun—as the courtyard briefly turns into a supernatural block party.
Between rounds, quiet moments sneak in: Jesse checking on battered Berserkers, Tiffany settling into her unexpected role as announcer, and Nick and Mel sharing pizza and tentative plans that look suspiciously like a real date—assuming they all survive the coming days. The tournament rolls on, the stakes deepen, and under the ash and ice, alliances start to look a lot like something worth fighting for.
