Fresh from the chaos of the maze, Jesse, Sir Nicholas, and Gary bring their rescued maze-maker back into the Arizona sunlight—and straight into a new problem: what do you do with a teenage Minotaur who’s been trafficked through supernatural black markets?
As Asterios struggles to understand where he is and what’s been done to him, the band has to balance mortal systems and divine politics. A call to Detective Johnson, questions about custody and safety, and hints of a coming “party” tied to the Thunderbird migration all point toward a much larger conspiracy brewing over Phoenix.
While Gary plans for an exclusive Scion gathering under storm-filled skies, Nicholas follows the pull of a relic shard that feels uncomfortably like destiny, and Mel arrives to weave wards and work quiet magic to keep their new guest hidden from anyone still hunting him. The war with Loki’s schemes pauses just long enough to show what it costs to protect the vulnerable—and how close the next turning point really is.

As the hunt for Loki’s schemes deepens, Jesse, Sir Nicholas, and Gary follow troll-bartered directions into a warped underworld where tunnels bend like thoughts and distance stops making sense. Slipping past armed cultists in an impossible subway that exists in more than one city at once, the band relies on stealth, nerve, and a few very questionable “gifts” to reach the heart of the maze.
What they find there isn’t just another monster—it’s a prisoner whose power reshapes the world around him, and whose fate could tip the balance of whatever Loki is planning. With Gary’s berserkers carving a bloody distraction, Jesse picking locks that were never meant to be opened, and Nicholas drawn toward something that feels disturbingly like destiny, the trio has to fight their way back to the surface carrying more than they came in with—and not all of it is easily shared.

Jesse, Sir Nicholas, and Gary venture deep beneath Phoenix as their search leads them into a vast network of underground tunnels—places where the air grows heavy, directions feel uncertain, and the boundaries of the city begin to blur. What starts as a simple descent quickly becomes something far stranger, as the trio realizes the paths ahead may not follow ordinary rules.
Surrounded by twisting corridors, echoing footsteps, and signs that others have passed through before, the band must rely on their instincts, their wits, and one another to navigate a subterranean landscape where every turn could lead to danger—or discovery. Their journey brings them into contact with unexpected inhabitants, shifting passages, and hints that something powerful may be shaping the very walls around them.
In a maze where nothing behaves as it should, the three Scions must decide how to move forward when even the ground beneath their feet can’t be trusted.

As the triad’s covert operation inside the morph impound center starts to unravel, the team is forced to improvise under mounting pressure. A tense ID check, an overeager baboon, and a hacked service bot turn a quiet evidence snatch into a chain reaction of chaos, alarms, and accidental fire. With rangers on high alert, technicians scrambling, and alerts rippling through the building, the crew must split their efforts between misdirection and extraction—protecting the precious cortical stack while trying to find any way out that doesn’t end in a lockdown… or a shootout.
About the Chronicle
Body Count is an Eclipse Phase Second Edition nano-op run by Twin Cities by Night, set in the tense, neon-lit sprawl of Noctis-Qianjiao on Mars. This chronicle follows a Sunon triad crew forced into a high-risk retrieval operation where identity, loyalty, and survival constantly collide. Focused on infiltration, espionage, and the fragile line between death and data, Body Count explores a world where egos can be copied, bodies are replaceable, and information is the most valuable— and dangerous—currency in the system.

The team’s infiltration of the morph impound center grows far more complicated as unexpected attention, system alerts, and rising tension inside the facility force them to adapt quickly. What began as a controlled recovery effort soon becomes a test of fast thinking, quiet coordination, and creative misdirection. With personnel on high alert and movement through the building tightening, the crew must navigate shifting obstacles, find new routes, and stay ahead of escalating chaos if they hope to slip out unnoticed. This second episode raises the stakes as every hallway, every choice, and every second counts.

On Mars, death is an inconvenience—unless your memories fall into the wrong hands. In Noctis-Qianjiao, the Sunon triad is in crisis after their man Shu is killed in a clash with the Martian Rangers, and his cortical stack now sits in an impound center full of cops, cameras, and baboon-backed patrols. In this opening episode, we meet Ellis, Chi, Burke, and Pivo, a crew of counterfeiters, hackers, and heavies sent to walk straight into a ranger facility under forged identities, pose as officials, and quietly reclaim Shu’s stack before anyone can crack it open. As the team flies over the domes of Noctis and moves through security checkpoints toward the morgue, the stakes are clear: if the rangers access what Shu knew, the triad’s entire operation—and everyone in it—could be exposed.

After a night at a supernatural nightclub goes sideways, Nicholas is left shaken by how close he came to giving up more than he bargained for. Jesse and Gary try—each in their own, very different ways—to pull him back from the edge and remind him that he doesn’t have to play by anyone else’s rules when it comes to temptation, romance, or fate.
Morning brings no real rest. With only days left before a looming divine crisis, the trio turns their attention underground: if Loki’s schemes run through the city’s tunnels, they’ll need to deal with the trolls who call those depths home. Instead of steel and bravado, they hatch a hilariously modern plan to bargain with monsters using the one thing even creatures of myth can’t resist—useful “treasure” from the mortal world. As they gather unlikely offerings and reach out to an ally of the sun, the path toward the dark below starts to take shape.

The hunt for answers leads Nicholas, Jesse, and Gary into an unexpected confrontation with another band of Scions—one that forces everyone to decide whether they’re allies, enemies, or something uneasy in between. Tensions flare, tempers spark, and the night sets the trio on a path toward a new danger lurking beneath the city: whispers of trolls gathering in the dark places below Phoenix, and hints that Loki’s mischief runs deeper than anyone expected.
As plans form and uneasy truces settle, the group turns to the mortal world to regroup. A visit to a supernatural nightclub offers a brief moment to breathe—but even there, powers older than humanity take notice. For one of them, what begins as harmless practice becomes something far more alluring… and far more perilous.
In the Valley of the Setting Sun, every answer only leads to another question. And sometimes, temptation doesn’t strike with fire—but with a smile.
