A small Eastern European town is preparing for its annual festival honoring a legendary figure known only as the Hunter. To visiting outsiders, it all seems harmless—local music, decorations, strange traditions, and curious stories shared by villagers. But once night falls, the truth behind the celebration awakens, and the guests quickly realize they are not spectators of the festival… they are its prey.
We Are Being Hunted is a chaotic, darkly comedic, and increasingly terrifying Slasher Flick one-shot featuring Twin Cities by Night regulars alongside special guests from The Esoteric Order of Roleplayers. What begins with awkward small talk, culture shock, and questionable choices spirals into a frantic fight for survival as the “hunt” officially begins.
Long-buried folklore stirs. Horns sound across the lake. Shadows move where no one stands. And as supernatural hounds prowl through the fog, the travelers must decide whether to run, hide, or embrace the madness closing in around them.
This Halloween special leans into everything Slasher Flick does best: larger-than-life characters, escalating danger, improvised mayhem, and the dread of realizing you’ve stumbled into a tradition older—and deadlier—than anyone warned you about.
Step into the festival grounds, take your place among the unsuspecting visitors, and remember one thing:

The last day at Shadow Valley Ranch begins with answers—and bigger questions. Hassan and Jesse follow tracks out into the desert and stumble on the truth behind the strange runes circling the property, the stolen monster, and the men who’ve been betting on the Scions’ failure. With the herd still penned behind a thinning barrier and a hungry predator on the loose, the four friends have to stop thinking like underpaid ranch hands and start acting like the heroes everyone keeps insisting they are.
What follows is part heist, part hunt: a desperate plan involving stolen trucks, bait laid in blood, and a narrow gap in the warding line that might be their only advantage. As engines roar and something terrible answers their call, the group has to decide not just how far they’ll go to protect Kieran’s cattle, but what kind of people they’re going to be when the dust finally settles.
Whatever happens in that last run into the desert, when the Regulators roll back to the ranch, nothing about their lives—or their sense of what they’re capable of—will be quite the same.

After a long, uneasy night at Shadow Valley Ranch, the Scions realize their job is far more dangerous than they expected. A terrifying creature tests their defenses, forcing them to improvise, regroup, and tighten their watch over Kieran’s miraculous herd. As they scramble to secure the barn and figure out how to fortify the ranch, the group quickly discovers that something—or someone—is working against them.
Strange markings appear in the desert soil. Tracks lead away into the dark. And at sunrise, a distant figure is spotted watching the ranch before slipping out of sight. With tensions rising and trust in short supply, the Scions split their efforts: some searching for answers in the desert, others seeking guidance from one of Kieran’s powerful allies.
But the more they investigate, the clearer it becomes that they’re not just guarding cattle—they’re being tested, watched, and perhaps even trapped by forces they don’t yet understand.

Four freshly blooded Scions roll out of Phoenix toward the middle of nowhere, trading movie quotes, bad advice, and cheap beer as desert heat shimmers around them. What waits at the end of that dusty road isn’t glory, but work: watching over a small herd of uncanny white cattle, marked with red-tipped ears and worth their weight in silver.
Kieran O’Connor, a laid-back but clearly powerful Scion, asks Hassan, Jesse, Nick, and Gary to do something deceptively simple—keep his miraculous herd safe while he’s away. All it takes is an oath, a handshake, and the understanding that if they fail, they’re not just out a paycheck; they’re in trouble with a demigod whose entire livelihood rests on those animals.
As the sun drops and the Arizona sky goes indigo, the ranch becomes very small, the desert very large, and the four friends start to realize that anything valuable enough to be worth millions is also valuable enough to attract the wrong kind of attention. Out here, under a sky full of indifferent stars, they’ll find out what it really means to be sworn protectors in a world where myths don’t stay on the page.
