13th Age "The Breaking of Forstor Nagar" Chapter 5: Through the Temple Door
Wednesday Aug 07, 2019
Wednesday Aug 07, 2019
With a line of refugees depending on them, the four travelers make their cautious approach toward the temple—one of the last remaining sanctuaries within besieged Forstor Nagar. A rising storm, shifting shadows, and the constant threat of patrols force them to move in silence, relying on trust, discipline, and careful coordination to keep everyone alive.
Inside the temple, however, nothing feels certain. The air is thick with unease, and the travelers quickly discover that not all dangers roar or announce themselves. Tension rises as unexpected encounters test their judgment, threaten their unity, and challenge their understanding of what is truly happening within the city’s sacred heart.
Episode 5 builds the pressure beneath the surface—quiet footsteps in vast halls, decisions made in darkness, and the unsettling sense that something powerful is waking just beyond reach. As the party presses deeper, both their mission and their bonds are pushed to the edge.

13th Age "The Breaking of Forstor Nagar" Chapter 4: The Weight of the Living
Sunday Aug 04, 2019
Sunday Aug 04, 2019
After carving their way through the frozen outskirts of Forstor Nagar, the group finally reaches the diplomatic compound—a fragile sanctuary holding soldiers, nobles, and frightened civilians who have survived the siege so far. Inside its walls, difficult conversations unfold. Trust is thin, hope is thinner, and the four travelers must prove their intentions before being allowed any further toward the city’s heart.
As they seek guidance about the oracle’s whereabouts, they find themselves balancing diplomacy, faith, and the harsh realities of a city on the edge of ruin. Newly formed alliances promise direction, but only if the party is willing to shoulder more responsibility than they anticipated. With nightfall approaching, they prepare to scout ahead—mapping a safe path through cursed streets, watching for enemy patrols, and weighing the risks of moving with those who cannot defend themselves.
Episode 4 follows the quiet tension that builds before a decisive push forward, as the travelers confront the human cost of the siege and the moral complexity of who can be saved—and how far they are willing to go to do it.

13th Age "The Breaking of Forstor Nagar" Chapter 2: Blood on the Ice
Wednesday Jul 24, 2019
Wednesday Jul 24, 2019
With the burning ship halted and the bridge to Forstor Nagar secured, the party is forced to decide what kind of heroes they really are. Surrounded by surrendering enemies on a doomed vessel, Ismail, Sir Hugo, Harad, and Nomina confront the brutal reality of the Hungering Legion and what “mercy” means in a war like this.
Inside the city of ice, they meet Bjorn at the fisher gate and learn just how desperate the siege has become. Cursed buildings, broken districts, and a holy city on the edge of collapse form the backdrop as the group presses toward the diplomatic quarter in search of the oracle’s spokesman. Their path takes them across treacherous rooftops, through hidden dangers woven into the very architecture, and into the line of sight of unseen killers who pick off fleeing refugees from the shadows. Hard choices, shaken faith, and the weight of command all begin to press down as they move deeper into the heart of a dying city.

Winter keeps its grip on Bismarck. Wayne leans harder into Raymond’s quiet mentorship—and a new morning resolve—while trailer-park coffee with Bruce turns into hard truths about complication and consequence. Across town, Derek’s day starts ordinary and ends with a layoff, as the Civic Center contract evaporates and a month’s pay in an envelope won’t cover the weight on his shoulders. With livelihoods cracking like river ice, Dakota Investigative Services faces a choice: chase small cases to survive, or step back toward the darkness that started it all.

Three months after the licenses are stamped and the shingle goes up for Dakota Investigative Services, winter settles hard over the plains—and over old wounds. One of the crew retreats to the edge of the reservation, seeking quiet and control, but the past doesn’t ask permission. A late-morning knock brings a familiar name, frayed by grief and fury, and an elder’s counsel forces a choice: keep surviving, or start healing. In the hush between snowfall and sunrise, the fight against the unseen takes a breath—and a new direction.
