Today we have a special guest host Josh Heath from High Level Games and Werewolf: the Podcast joining us to talk about H.P. Lovecraft's short story collection Necromonicon.
About the Chronicle
Brian’s Book Club is a casual, thoughtful series where Chris discusses horror novels, genre fiction, and books that have shaped the tone and themes of Twin Cities by Night’s storytelling over the years. Each episode blends personal reflection, literary analysis, and grounded discussion on why certain stories resonate so powerfully within the horror genre.

The Brian Diaries - Our Two Year Birthday!
Monday Mar 19, 2018
Monday Mar 19, 2018
It's our birthday!
About the Chronicle
Brian’s Diaries serves as a more introspective sister series—part journal, part commentary, part look behind the curtain. In each entry, Chris reflects on his experiences as a storyteller, podcaster, and creator within the Twin Cities by Night community. He also interviews people who are involved in the gaming community for their insights too.
Episodes explore what it means to run long-term chronicles, build living worlds, collaborate with players, and carry the emotional and creative weight of horror storytelling. The tone is honest and personal, sometimes humorous, sometimes somber, always authentic. Whether discussing past games, real-life challenges, or lessons learned through years of running narrative-heavy campaigns, Brian’s Diaries offers a rare, open look at the person behind the stories.

Changeling: the Lost "Vanity" Chapter 9: Salt, Smoke, and Secrets
Saturday Mar 17, 2018
Saturday Mar 17, 2018
Plans form over coffee and a clattering conscience. Norma shares a hard truth that reshapes the freehold’s map of trust, Katrina carries it to Raymond’s door, and a quiet dinner becomes a crossroads. As invitations go out to Isabel and Frank, a promise in a sickroom tightens, and a confession on a beachside porch draws a new line between caution and conviction. The question isn’t whether to act—it’s what the cost of action will be.
About the Chronicle
Changeling: The Lost — Vanity is a Chronicles of Darkness story set in 1993 South Florida. It follows Katrina, Raymond, Isabel, and Frank as they navigate memory, mask, and meaning after impossible experiences. Themes include the cost of survival, the seduction (and danger) of glamour, and the collision of faith, desire, and control in a world that’s equal parts neon and nightmare.

Changeling: the Lost "Vanity" Chapter 8: What We Owe Each Other
Saturday Mar 17, 2018
Saturday Mar 17, 2018
Morning brings reckoning. As Charlie’s detox begins in earnest, Raymond keeps vigil and confronts what a promise truly costs. Katrina meets Norma behind a locked library door, where coffee turns into quiet strategy and hard truths about the freehold surface. Isabel leaves a dream that lingers like perfume, while Frank rides shotgun with Emmanuel on a late-night errand that hints at threats beyond club lights and city streets. Bonds tighten, lines sharpen, and everyone learns the difference between kindness and caretaking.

Changeling: the Lost "Vanity" Chapter 7: The Ocean Between
Friday Mar 16, 2018
Friday Mar 16, 2018
Night falls across Fort Lauderdale, but none of the motley sleep easily. Katrina finds herself haunted by questions and reaches out for guidance. Isabel dances to forget, pulling a stranger close as the club’s lights blur and the world turns soft and fleeting. Frank is pulled into a late-night drive with Emmanuel—a favor wrapped in secrecy—and Raymond brings Charlie home to begin something that feels halfway between redemption and penance. On a quiet porch, under the sound of the surf, a promise is made that the Wyrd itself will remember.

Under a desert moon, the Pale Riders are called to one final gathering. What begins as a ritual of blood and devotion soon becomes something far deeper—a reckoning of faith, purpose, and the lingering ghosts of who they once were. In the fires of rebirth, each Rider faces their own reflection and emerges changed, bound by oath and fate to the Sword of Caine’s next crusade.
As the smoke clears, a new mission is set before them—one that leads away from the sands of Mexico and toward the frozen streets of the Twin Cities. The past is ash. The path ahead burns bright.
About the Chronicle
Vampire: The Masquerade – Juarez on Fire is a Sabbat chronicle set in 1942, at the edge of civilization where Texas meets Mexico and faith burns as hot as the desert sun.
The story follows the Pale Riders, a newly formed Sabbat pack born from a mass Embrace and molded by pain, blood, and ritual. Each member — a soldier, zealot, matriarch, capitalist, and rebel — struggles to understand what it means to serve Cain while battling the fading remnants of their humanity.
The campaign delves into the early rise of Sabbat influence in the Americas, examining loyalty through suffering, faith corrupted by blood, and the monstrous freedom found in damnation.
