Tension has been building for Margaret ever since the settlers struck their uneasy bargains in Missouri Crossing. Convinced something in town isn’t right—and unwilling to wait for someone else to act—she slips into the Silver Dollar to see the truth for herself. What she finds is a crowded, complicated place where power, fear, and survival quietly mix beneath the surface.
A risky attempt to blend in brings her face-to-face with the people who truly run the saloon, but it also leads to an unexpected connection with the women who work there. When one of them seeks her help for a troubling injury, Margaret realizes the trouble in town may be deeper—and stranger—than she imagined. And despite her disguise, her offer of aid may have just started something she can’t walk away from.

Monsterhearts 2 "F*ck, Marry, Kill" Chapter 11: The Lights Go Out
Sunday Jul 25, 2021
Sunday Jul 25, 2021
Kylie answers a summons from Dean Irving after the cruel graffiti on the historic dorm plaque drags both of their reputations into the spotlight. What starts as a tense conversation about damage control and public image turns into a private rehearsal of the power games that have always lived between them—status, desire, and who really holds the reins when no one is watching.
Behind a closed office door and then in the shadowed archive room, Kylie leans into that control, testing just how far the dean will go to reassure her that no one is allowed to define her but herself. But just as the moment crests, everything is literally cut short: a door slams, the lights die, and the safe little bubble they’ve built around their secret is shattered by an unseen intruder.

Monsterhearts 2 "F*ck, Marry, Kill" Chapter 10: Terms of the Hunt
Wednesday Jul 21, 2021
Wednesday Jul 21, 2021
Sam finally tracks Lydia down, intending to quietly sniff out whether she’s human, monster, or something in between—but the conversation flips fast when she reveals she already knows exactly what he is. Inside a dorm room marked with chalk circles and candle wax, the two predators circle each other with threats, bargains, and half-truths, testing how far a truce can stretch and who might be useful in taking certain people “off the board.” By the time Sam walks back into the hallway and calls an emergency off-campus meeting with Kylie and Morgana, it’s clear: something old and dangerous has claimed Lydia’s skin, and it wants to make deals.

Monsterhearts 2 "F*ck, Marry, Kill" Chapter 9: Red Wine & Red Flags
Sunday Jul 18, 2021
Sunday Jul 18, 2021
The day after the party, the campus looks calm—but everyone’s nerves are frayed. Morgana heads into town to restock her occult supplies and unexpectedly ends up at lunch with Alicia, where pasta, red wine, and casual gossip turn into something sharper: doubts about Kylie’s influence, frustration with Erica, and hints that the dorm’s social hierarchy might be shifting.
Back on campus, Kylie shoulders the unglamorous fallout of the bash—arranging restoration for the vandalized plaque and trying (and failing) to softly meddle in Erica’s overbooked, overachieving life. Meanwhile, Morgana’s latest discoveries about vengeful spirits and the monks’ legacy quietly circulate in the group chat, and Sam prepares for the next step in a dangerous plan: getting close enough to Lydia to find out what, exactly, is wearing her skin.

Scion “Under the Lonely Sky” Final Chapter: When the Stars Return
Wednesday Jul 14, 2021
Wednesday Jul 14, 2021
With the centaur camp in ruins and the conductor’s broken plans echoing in their minds, Alex, Farö, and Morales are left with a single grim truth: the thing that came through the sky isn’t finished with them. Out on the open prairie, far from the safety of Douglas and with the night pressing close around their headlights, the trio are forced into one last, desperate gamble to keep the horror from ever reaching anyone else.
As an unseen predator circles just beyond the edge of the light, old wounds, bad choices, and fraying tempers collide with the weight of their divine callings. A risky plan takes shape—one that will demand timing, trust, and more from each of them than they ever meant to give. When the lonely sky finally fills with stars again, nothing about this road trip, or the people who survived it, will feel quite the same.
About the Chronicle
Scion: Under the Lonely Sky is a Scion Second Edition one-shot by Twin Cities by Night. It follows three modern demigods on a northbound road trip toward the Canadian wilderness, pushed along by the whims of their divine patrons. What starts as cramped-car bickering and casual mythic banter quickly becomes a tale of eerie omens, small-town tension, and the thin line between the mortal world and the beings who move behind it. Featuring Becca, Jorin, and Slavic, this story blends road-trip drama, mythic weirdness, and creeping unease beneath a sky that refuses to shine.

Scion “Under the Lonely Sky” Chapter 4: The Thing Beneath the Star
Sunday Jul 11, 2021
Sunday Jul 11, 2021
Under a sky that still refuses to shine, Alex, Farö, and Morales finally come face-to-face with what was dragged in from beyond the lonely sky. In the flickering light of the centaurs’ camp, a misshapen creature tears its way into the world, and the fragile balance between mortal terror, divine will, and something utterly other collapses.
With panicked centaurs caught between worship and survival and the conductor clinging to the ruins of her failed “song,” the scions must decide where to stand—and what they’re willing to risk—to keep the horror from spilling any farther into the world. As bullets bend, plans fray, and the darkness itself seems to shift, the road trip that began with cramped seats and frayed tempers reaches a brutal, inevitable crossroads: under the lonely sky, not everyone gets to walk away unchanged.

Monsterhearts 2 "F*ck, Marry, Kill" Chapter 8: Hunting Shadows
Wednesday Jul 07, 2021
Wednesday Jul 07, 2021
Morning hits hard after the disastrous Halloween party. Sam wakes to a panicked call from home and the reminder that the “animal carcass” in front of the dorm has already made the news—along with the unsettling question of whether another predator is stalking his territory. Kylie, stuck honoring a deal with Jamie, ends up coordinating cleanup duty, juggling a hungover Megan, the vandalized plaque, and a very serious Misner arming himself to hunt whatever left those remains near the school.
While the others deal with mundane fallout, Morgana chases the supernatural thread. Reddit replies and a trip to her favorite occult shop turn up darker possibilities: old monastic sins, dormant rituals that never really died, and something vengeful looking for the “right” body. Armed with bones, books on puppet-souls, and a warning that there’s another witch in the dorm—a quiet French Muslim girl with a new silver dagger—Morgana starts to realize that whatever woke up on campus isn’t just a ghost story. It’s hunting, too.

Sunday Jul 04, 2021
A chaotic night hits its breaking point when Erica collapses at the bar and Jennifer—convinced something sinister is happening—lashes out at Alessandro, bringing the party to an abrupt end as EMTs and police arrive. While Sam deals with the fallout, Kylie and Morgana race to understand what really happened.
Their search turns up unsettling clues: Jamie isn’t the culprit they suspected, but something else is very wrong—and it centers on Lydia, whose strange behavior no longer resembles the girl they know. By the end of the night, one thing is certain: the biggest threat isn’t the chaos everyone saw, but the secret none of them can explain.

Gregory’s work to secure land for the settlers leads him deeper into the heart of Missouri Crossing’s power structure. A quiet stare from a well-dressed gambler draws him into a tense card game with stakes far beyond money, while a meeting with the town’s shrewd land agent forces Gregory to negotiate hard just to give his people a fighting chance. Deals are struck, signatures promised, and the foundation of a new community begins to take shape—though not without cost.
As construction preparations start along the river, an unexpected reunion brings warmth to Gregory’s camp: his brother Georgie arrives to share a meal, a bottle, and memories of home. But even in moments of comfort, hints of hardship and vulnerability surface. With new land claimed, uncertain allies made, and the prairie stretching wide and watchful around them, the settlers step into a future that feels full of promise—and quietly, undeniably, full of risk.

With Father Nos at his side and the community’s pooled savings in his pocket, Gregory steps into the Glasgow Silver Dollar to negotiate for land and a future. There, over whiskey and under the eyes of cardsharps, working girls, and watchful dogs, he’s measured by a smooth-talking local power who seems very interested in what kind of man Gregory really is. By the end of the night, the settlers may be closer to claiming a piece of Missouri Crossing—but the town has started claiming a piece of them in return.
