The Brian Diaries "The Giovanni Clan"
Sunday Sep 01, 2019
Sunday Sep 01, 2019
Join us as Chris and Mitch talk about Cold Brew insanity and the Giovanni Clan.
About the Chronicle
Brian’s Diaries serves as a more introspective sister series—part journal, part commentary, part look behind the curtain. In each entry, Chris reflects on his experiences as a storyteller, podcaster, and creator within the Twin Cities by Night community. He also interviews people who are involved in the gaming community for their insights too.
Episodes explore what it means to run long-term chronicles, build living worlds, collaborate with players, and carry the emotional and creative weight of horror storytelling. The tone is honest and personal, sometimes humorous, sometimes somber, always authentic. Whether discussing past games, real-life challenges, or lessons learned through years of running narrative-heavy campaigns, Brian’s Diaries offers a rare, open look at the person behind the stories.

Demon: the Fallen "Fragments" Chapter 11: The Fifth Light
Wednesday Aug 28, 2019
Wednesday Aug 28, 2019
A name leads them through snow and silence to Temple Sinai—and to a man who isn’t quite what he seems. Behind a scholar’s warmth and a rabbi’s calm, something older listens. The conversation turns from scripture to memory, from the death of a child to the return of ancient kin. Before they leave, the Fallen learn that Rochester shelters more than grief: one of their own walks in a mortal’s skin, another may be killing again, and faith—mortal or divine—still burns brighter than truth.
About the Chronicle
Demon: The Fallen – Fragments is a Chronicles of Darkness story set in the early years of the new millennium, when the first of the Fallen return to the mortal world. Each prelude explores the awakening of a demon within its human host — charting the boundaries between redemption and ruin, grace and obsession.

Winter settles hard on Rochester as the Fallen follow the last traces of Claire Phillips to the river’s edge. In the quiet of a homeless camp beneath the overpass, answers come wrapped in silence, suspicion, and the scent of cold ashes. What they uncover is not a reunion, but a reckoning—one that leads them toward a name spoken in fear and reverence alike.

Slasher Flick "Housewarming Party" The Final Chapter: Freeze, Burn, Repeat
Friday Aug 23, 2019
Friday Aug 23, 2019
The “housewarming party” spirals completely off the rails as the surviving tenants are pushed into yet another themed death room—this time a subzero nightmare filled with booby-trapped snowmen, hidden weapons, and a frozen prize worth far more than it seems. What begins as a desperate scramble for survival quickly becomes a full-scale meltdown, both literally and figuratively, as flamethrowers ignite, traps misfire, and even the killer’s own designs start collapsing under the chaos.
But while the contestants fight their way through ice, fire, and increasingly ridiculous hazards, someone else’s earlier sabotage catches up with the unseen host. With systems failing and structural damage everywhere, the walls of the Chambers complex begin to reveal the truth behind the entire setup—and the person running it. When the group finally forces their way toward the basement control room, they come face-to-face with the mastermind in a showdown that ends with a grenade, a collapsing corridor, and a very abrupt conclusion to the “show.”
What follows is a frantic escape attempt, a final confrontation with the half-finished kill-bot still limping through the halls, and one very improbable exit as the survivors hack, slam, and taser their way to daylight.
Episode 3 wraps Housewarming Party with a chaotic, bloody, darkly comic finale—one part slasher, one part game show gone wrong, and one part action-movie absurdity. The last tenants standing aren’t just lucky… they’re stubborn, reckless, and running on pure genre momentum as they ride off into the sunrise, broken but victorious.
About the Chronicle
Slasher Flick: Housewarming is a one-shot horror tale told in the style of a classic supernatural slasher movie. Players take on both main characters and expendable partygoers, earning “genre points” by embracing the tropes—splitting the party, investigating weird noises, making questionable decisions—and then using those points to desperately try to survive each kill scene.
Twin Cities by Night leans fully into the VHS-era vibe: a haunted house that feels wrong from the moment you step inside, a cast of flawed and funny characters, and a lurking presence that doesn’t care about your snacks, your playlist, or your life choices. It just wants victims.
This chronicle blends dark comedy, escalating terror, and the frantic energy of a slasher film’s opening reel. Whether you’re here for the scares, the bad decisions, or the inevitable chaos, Housewarming sets the tone for a night where moving in was the easy part.

Slasher Flick "Housewarming Party" Chapter 2: Prizes and Pitfalls
Wednesday Aug 21, 2019
Wednesday Aug 21, 2019
The new tenants of the rebuilt Chambers complex finally learn the rules of their “housewarming party” — and none of them are good. Herded into a series of themed rooms, they’re forced to play along as an unseen host dangles cash, freedom, and survival in front of them… always at a price. Tempting briefcases, trapped floors, and cruel “game show” twists turn every step into a gamble, and the line between teamwork and betrayal starts to crack.
While the group navigates deadly puzzles in faux living spaces and a weaponized kitchen, someone else is moving behind the scenes in the upper levels of the building, prying into control rooms and half-finished traps. As systems misfire and safety measures fail, the show begins to glitch in ways even the host didn’t intend.
Episode 2 tightens the screws on Housewarming Party, shifting from eerie setup into full-on slasher gauntlet. The tenants quickly learn that in this place, curiosity is dangerous, greed is worse, and every “prize” comes with a hidden cost.

Slasher Flick "Housewarming Party" Chapter 1: Welcome to the Neighborhood
Sunday Aug 18, 2019
Sunday Aug 18, 2019
Nothing says “fresh start” like a new house, a few close friends, and a night of drinking to celebrate your independence. The plan was simple: unpack a little, party a lot, and ignore the creepy rumors about the old place you just moved into. But from the moment the sun goes down, the house feels… off. Strange drafts slip under closed doors. Knocking sounds echo from empty rooms. Shadows don’t always stay where they should.
As the music gets louder and the group settles in for a night of fun, something inside the house begins to wake up—something that’s been waiting, listening, and growing restless. The past doesn’t stay buried for long here, and before the party is even in full swing, the atmosphere shifts from playful to unsettling. Jokes turn nervous. Guests start disappearing. And the house itself seems more alive—and more hungry—than anyone expected.
Episode 1 kicks off the Housewarming slasher story with a slow burn that spirals toward dread. What begins as an ordinary gathering quickly becomes a night where every choice matters, and every room feels like a trap waiting to close.

Call of Cthulhu "The Derelict" The Final Chapter: The Ice Keeps Its Secrets
Friday Aug 16, 2019
Friday Aug 16, 2019
What began as one last luxury voyage has become a nightmare the group can barely understand, let alone outrun. With the Derelict’s mysteries closing in and the Delilah no longer the safe haven it once seemed, Mac, Danny, Matthew, and Ashley are forced into a series of choices that pit loyalty against survival and fear against responsibility. Strange signs on both vessels hint that something more than simple misfortune has claimed this stretch of sea—and that whatever stalks these decks may not be bound by the rules of the natural world.
As the cold tightens its grip and every escape route seems to twist into another dead end, the friends must decide how far they are willing to go to protect each other, what they’re willing to leave behind, and whether they can live with the cost of whatever comes next. Out here in the North Atlantic, help is distant, the ice is patient, and some truths may never surface.
About the Chronicle
The Derelict is a Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition scenario brought to life by Twin Cities by Night, adapted from the classic adventure written by Sandy Petersen with Mike Mason. Set against the bleak, indifferent expanse of the North Atlantic, it follows a small group of friends whose farewell voyage becomes a desperate struggle once they cross paths with an abandoned freighter locked in the ice.
Blending character-driven drama, slow-burn tension, and creeping cosmic dread, The Derelict stands as a self-contained story within Twin Cities by Night’s wider anthology of Call of Cthulhu tales—perfect for listeners who want to step aboard for a single, haunting voyage into the unknown.

Call of Cthulhu "The Derelict" Chapter 2: Dead Air
Wednesday Aug 14, 2019
Wednesday Aug 14, 2019
With the Delilah anchored at a cautious distance, Mac, Danny, and Matthew climb aboard the stranded freighter and begin a methodical search through its frozen superstructure. What starts as a strange, abandoned kitchen and a dust-choked captain’s log quickly gives way to overturned tables, congealed stains, and signs of a struggle that ended violently and without warning. Every level of the ship feels more wrong than the last—silent corridors, shattered glass where it has no business being, and the first undeniable evidence that not everyone left this place alive.
As the trio pushes higher toward the radio room in hopes of raising help, they discover just how thoroughly someone tried to sever this ship from the outside world. When the Derelict’s secrets finally intersect with the Delilah’s, the friends realize they may no longer be the only ones out here in the ice—and that their supposed lifeline back to safety might already be in danger.

Call of Cthulhu "The Derelict" Chapter 1: One Last Voyage
Sunday Aug 11, 2019
Sunday Aug 11, 2019
Mac’s beloved yacht, Delilah, is making her final journey across the cold North Atlantic—one last pleasure cruise before he’s forced to sell her. Joining him are Danny, a former cop turned lawyer with family ghosts of his own, and Matthew, an ex-athlete trying to outrun a very public fall from grace. Along with Mac’s old flame Ashley and his quiet, unsettling friend Dennis, the group sets out from Boston expecting days of diving, drinking, and lazy luxury on the open water.
As the days slip by in a haze of cigars, fishing, and hot-tub banter, small tensions and private regrets begin to surface. Then news of something adrift in the ice ahead—a stranded freighter perched on an iceberg—turns their last holiday into an unexpected opportunity. Drawn by curiosity, obligation, and the hint of profit, the friends prepare to board the derelict ship, unaware that this decision will change their “harmless” adventure into something far more ominous.

At the heart of ruined Forstor Nagar, the travelers finally stand at the edge of their goal—and the cost of reaching it. With refugees depending on them and the city groaning under the weight of the Hungering Legion, every choice now carries a consequence that can’t be taken back. What began as a mission to find an oracle becomes something far more complicated as truths are revealed, loyalties are tested, and old oaths clash with new desires.
Inside the temple, power and desperation collide. Some seek salvation, some seek freedom, and some can’t ignore the call of a greater hunt. As storm and blood swirl around them, the four companions are forced down separate paths, each shaped by what they’re willing to sacrifice—and who they’re willing to leave behind.
This final chapter brings The Breaking of Forstor Nagar to a stark conclusion, closing the story of a dying city, an elusive oracle, and four travelers whose choices will echo long after the last light fades from the ice.
About the Chronicle
The Breaking of Forstor Nagar is a grim, high-fantasy one-shot for the 13th Age role-playing game, published by Pelgrane Press and brought to life by Twin Cities by Night. This actual-play story blends tactical combat, character-driven drama, and dark, siege-torn atmosphere as a small band of unlikely allies navigates war, hunger, and hard moral decisions in a city of ice.
Twin Cities by Night focuses on mood-heavy, roleplay-forward tabletop stories with horror and tension at their core, featuring a rotating cast of players and storytellers exploring a variety of systems and settings.
